Fusion Card Challenge

I have a card to share for the Fusion Card Challenge. It’s a Challenge where you decide to use a sketch, a theme or both. Here is the prompt for the current challenge.

I chose to do just the sketch because of this amazing Waffle Flower Layering  Woodgrain Stamp. I wanted the stamp to be the major part of the card, I chose the Altenew Sea Shore Set of Inks for layering stamps and used the two lightest shades.

Then I used the Amuse Studio’s Dear Friend Set for the flower and sentiment with the same inks. This was a very easy, fast card and I love the look of the layered wood.
Thanks for checking out my Creation today, I will be back soon with more😊. If you would like to join in or get some inspiration from the Challenge you can find it

Breast Cancer Awareness

Today I have a Creation for 2 Challenges, The Time Out Challenge & The Ellen Hutson Mix It Up Challenge. The Time Out Challenge was to make a Breast Cancer themed creation and the Mix It Up Challenge was to use both Ellen Hutson and Altenew products together. Both sounded like lots of fun for me...and it turned out they were. The Time Out Challenge wants everyone to just take Time Out and create, which is not much of a challenge for me but since I am right in the middle of my Breast Cancer treatment and I am feeling really good....it was even less of a challenge, especially for this creation😊.

I knew I wanted to watercolor my project, so I used the Cloves and Honey Pretty in Pink dot card with 3 colors. I started by painting the Ellen Hutson ribbon die from her Courage Set (this set donates $25 from every single set to BCRF) and then painting the same colors on the left side of my project. Then I embossed the large image from the Altenew/Simon Says Stamp Stamptember Fabulous You Set (I think this one might be sold out....forever) with Altenew’s Golden Peach Embossing Powder.

I decided the ribbon needed something extra, so I cut two more and then embossed those also then put them behind the watercolored one, just peeking out behind. I chose my sentiment from the Awareness Ribbon Set #1 from A Creative Journey with Melissa (ACJWM).....this quote is very accurate to how I have felt many times during this journey....so THANK YOU, MELISSA!

I was going to make this into a card, but I
like it so much I think I will attach it to this white wood block with a ribbon on top and hang it by my crafting area.

Thank you so much for visiting my creative place today, this project and these Challenges were perfect timing for me and this creation.

If you want more info on either of these challenges you can click on their names below. If you need a little extra inspiration I would recommend both of these also. Happy Thanksgiving

Hi there, today I have a card inspired by both a Sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and a card from the Muse Card Club.

I used the basic design from the sketch and the leaves and gold embossing from the Muse card. I added watercolor to color my images and the four stripes. First, I embossed these leaves by Altenew with their Golden Peach Embossing Powder, one small leaf and the sentiment

with WOW! Pearl Gold Sparkle. These beautiful watercolors are from Cloves and Honey Handmade Watercolors, Apricot & Copper Mauve. I used watercolor paper so I could get it nice and wet before adding the pigment, I am still trying to figure out which paper I like best. Sorry about the poor pictures from my night time lighting. I will try once the sun is up and add those. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Set to color the strips of kraft paper and give them a metallic look. Then I added the cluster of leaves and added the embossed sentiment.

Thanks for taking a look at my Thanksgiving card! If you would like to take a look or participate in either of these challenges just click on their names below. -Jodi

Happy Haunting

Today I have a card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, this week the challenge is A WALK ON THE DARKSIDE featuring Tim Holtz Products.

At first I thought oh no, I don’t have any Tim Holtz.....but then thought of my Distress Oxides and a Small Stamp Set hidden somewhere. The trees from the Stamp Set were perfect for what I wanted, along with layers and layers of Distress Oxides.

I made a Halloween Happy Haunting Shaker Card But the sequins is covering up some of the design. At least you can see the results of multiple layers of blending beautiful Distress Oxides, then spritzing with water and Shimmer Mist and the Tim Holtz triple embossed trees. I wanted the trees to stand out as much as possible knowing all of the other elements I was using. I used Judikins embossable acetate, which worked great. The other stamps are from an old CTMH Set that was in storage for years. I would have liked the ghosts to stand out better but it’s not a sunny day and my pictures just didn’t show off the card as well.
Thanks for visiting today, if you want to participate in the challenge you can find it by clicking the word HERE at the end of the post, then go to challenges and click on Monday Challenge. Have a great day!   Jodi.       Click HERE

CAS(E) this Sketch

I’ve been wanting to make a card for this Challenge blog for quite awhile and finally got it done😊. The card in the post below was done for this Sketch too but I went a little overboard and it is definitely not Clean and Simple.

Here is the Sketch to follow

Here is my take on it

Clean and Simple is not my normal style so it is a challenge just to make a card like this, but I am happy how it turned out. I started with a Mod Podge wood grain mask and applied Coral Calypso Nuvo Mousse. While that dried I used the Mini Abstract Trees stencil from The Crafters Workshop to heat emboss the trees. I pushed Versamark ink through the stencil, applied and heat the embossing powder and cut out the individual leaves to make a cluster and tie the bottom with craft string. The powders I used were WOW! Copacabana and Pearl Gold Sparkle and Altenew Gold and Golden Peach. Lastly I added the sentiment from the Ellen Hutson United We Flourish Altenew PoppySet.

Thanks for visiting my creative space!

Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Challenge

I am sharing a card today that was inspired by Ellen Hutson’s Pin-Sight Challenge and also by a short visit I had in San Juan Puerto Rico. I was lucky enough to take a cruise....a long time ago....and we stopped in San Juan only for about 5 hours. That short visit made an amazing impression on me and I think of it often. The colors of the houses and buildings were beautiful pastels that you would never see here in Wisconsin. The people were so friendly and welcoming, everything about the day was perfect. When I think of what all of Puerto Rico is going through it makes me so sad and I wish there was more that could be done for them...and much faster. So this is my tiny little dedication to that beautiful place and the beautiful people there.

When I saw these beach cabanas from this Avery Elle set I decided to turn them into the beautiful thin tall houses on the hills that were in San Juan, and I used colors with my Prismacolor pencils that I remember from my visit. The background is made with the Honey Bee Stamps Layered Sunshine Stencil set and blending inks in the Altenew Pocketful of Sushine Set. The sentiment is from the Ellen Hutson and Honey Bee United We Flourish  Sending Sunshine Set. Then finished, of course, with Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

This is the Pin-Sights Challenge Picture for inspiration, and this beautiful image took my mind immediately to Puerto Rico.

Altenew Academy Masking Unleashed #2

Today I have my 2nd card from the Masking Class at Altenew Academy. This lesson showed us how to make a mask with a die cut out of Masking paper and then use it to ink blend your background.

I used the Altenew Leafy Wreath Die with masking paper and Altenew Limestone ink for blending, as in the lesson I did this once then moved the mask slightly and did more blending with the same color to create a shadowed look. I should have used a die that is not quite so intricate for my first try, it didn't turn out quite as I wanted ....but after spraying with Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz from Imagine Crafts (love this💖!!) I liked the look better. This card is the most difficult thing I have made to photograph in natural light, maybe it's too much shimmer and shine. It was such a Pretty silvery look I decided it should be a Holiday/ Winter card. I found an old CTMH stamp set for the sentiment and snowflakes. The images were embossed with WOW embossing powders (Metallic Silver, White Pearl and Sparkling Snow). Then I finished it with Pretty Pink Posh iridescent mini circles. These are the prettiest I have seen of all of their gorgeous sequins, they are tiny, not easy to work with but they are so worth it.....you have to see them in person!

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, this week it is anything goes. If you want to check it out you can click here Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  Thank You 😊!! Jodi
