I Thank My Lucky Stars

Today I have a new card that came together surprisingly fast for me, I think because of the meaning behind it. Over at the Time Out Challenge they asked us to create something based on these words....

There are many reasons these words speak to me, the time of year is the obvious one. I have been in treatment and recently going through reconstruction for Breast Cancer since my Bilateral Mastectomy August 31st. Everyone experiences different feelings while facing cancer and lately I have been feeling lucky and grateful. Things could be much worse, and my Surgeon  and Oncologist have done an amazing job. Because of this I wanted to make a card about how I am currently feeling.

I recently got a beautiful handmade watercolor set on Etsy from 31PURPLEFISH called A Funky Christmas and couldn’t wait to use them. I started by stamping the MFT stamp Abstract Background and Heat Embossing with WOW! Pearl Gold Sparkle. Then I randomly colored the areas with my Funky Christmas Watercolors and this ended up being the “frame” after die cutting with MFT Stitched Round Rectangle Frames. Next I diecut the word Stars and a few stars that came with it out of Gold  cardstock with MFT Shining Stars. The sentiment is from their matching Stamp Written In The Stars. That was stamped on paper colored with a mixture from the watercolor set and Heat embossed with black Gina K detail powder. Lastly, I added some extra diecut Stars ✨.

As I was looking through Challenges I realized this met the criteria for two more Challenges.....Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Star Light Star Bright and Inspired By All The Little Things is based on this beautiful picture (not quite sure how I made something for three Challenge without knowing?).
